Wounded and suffering battle fatigue, W.P. Inman flees a Confederate military hospital near Raleigh to cross the rugged terrain toward home and his beloved Ada in Western North Carolina. Along the way, he meets a cast of characters right out of Homer’s Odyssey all while being relentlessly hunted by the marshals of the Home Guard. Meanwhile back at home, Ada fights to survive not knowing Inman’s fate and struggling with her own. Will the lovers ever be reunited?

Commissioned by Minnesota Opera with co-producer Opera Company of Philadelphia, Silent Night opened on November 12, 2011 at the Ordway Theater, St. Paul Minnesota to great critical acclaim and standing-room-only houses for the entirety of its run. The opera is sung in English, German, French, Italian and Latin.
Savannah Voice Festival
Led by opera legend SHERRILL MILNES, the Savannah VOICE Festival takes place in the “Hostess City” of Savannah, Georgia from August 5-27, 2017. It is a celebration of the classical voice with over 25 performances, including operas, concerts, food and wine events, and masterclasses. Offering music from opera, musical theatre and song, this year’s highlights include Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and a preview of Michael Ching’s new opera Anna Hunter, as well as International, Broadway and Sacred Song nights. The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort is the backdrop for many events as well as historic places around the city.
